Fibromyalgia & Family Gatherings

Family Gatherings

August 11, 20242 min read

Families are like fudge, mostly sweet with a few nuts!

Introduction:

Family gatherings can be a great time to connect with your relatives. Or maybe your family is an exercise in patience. Perhaps you've decided to surround yourself with friends and call them "family" instead. It's all ok.

Fibromyalgia & Family Gatherings

Do Family Gatherings fill you with joy or dread? Keep reading to find some tips to manage your fibromyalgia at the next family gathering.

Hey Fibro Girl!

Ah…Family Gatherings….

You might love them… or not.

They might stress you out… or energize you.

Wherever you sit with the whole family gathering thing, I’ll bet that it’s probably a lot harder to manage them well with fibromyalgia. Everything is bigger, louder and you have less energy.

Take care of you!

Here’s the thing, you don’t have to stop going (if you don’t want to that is)😉

Want a sneak peek into some of the things I have so that I can enjoy my time out:

💜Earplugs

💜Snacks

💜Clothes that look nice, but still feel comfy

💜Hat & sunglasses if its outside

💜Water bottle

💜Essential Oil bracelet

💜Anything else specific to a certain event

It’s up to you to take care of you. A little planning ahead can help. Speaking up about your needs. Removing yourself from a particularly triggering situation or person.
Do the best that you can do

Do the best that you can do.

Remember:

You CANNOT control the environment, only yourself!

And, if you’ve done all you can do for you and it’s still too much or you’ve reached your limit, then excuse yourself graciously and go home for a nap.

Something for you

Be sure to check out the self study course A Fibro Girl’s Operation Manual which will totally prepare you for social outings and family gatherings.
