Better sleep with fibromyalgia

Sleeping...too much and not enough all at the same time. Learn some simple tricks to reset your sleep schedule.

Hey Fibro Girl!

I always think of September as a New Year. New starts. New Routines. Maybe you took a break over the summer and now it’s a perfect time to set up (or renew) your Sleep Schedule.

Sleeping Feels Elusive

First of all, sleeping can be a lot harder in summer.

  • It’s lighter later

  • It’s hot

  • Travel

  • Different places and different beds.

All of these things have interfered with your much needed sleep.

I’ve talked before about a healthy Morning Routine and a supportive NIght Routine. You can go back to read them to get a refresher.

Now, the evenings are getting cooler again and the days are shorter, so it’s a great time to  reset and renew your Sleep Schedule.

Simple Tricks to Better Sleep

I’m not going to talk to you about the importance of sleep and All The Things - you already know all of this. But…I would like to invite you to look at HOW you’re sleeping now. WHEN you sleep and WHAT you could do to make it even just a tiny bit better.

🌜Getting black out curtains? (Game Changer BTW)

🌜Going to bed earlier?

🌜Wearing a sleep mask?

🌜Starting a night routine?

🌜Moving or doing light stretches before bed?

🌜Sleeping in your bed only at night

🌜Changing into pajamas at bedtime only

I know sleep can feel quite elusive when you have fibromyalgia. (I was an insomniac for five years and then another five years of broken unrestful sleep). Now I have amazing, restful sleep almost EVERY Night!!!

Better Sleep is Possible - Even for you!

As with every new habit - It Takes Time!! You won’t see changes overnight (Ha! Pun intended 🤣)

What is the one (or a few) things that you’re going to work on to renew your restful sleep schedule?

Join our Thriving with Fibromyalgia community and share your sleep stuff with us there. Don’t worry if you’re not thriving yet, it’s a journey. But you’ve gotta start somewheres. Right?
